CLEAN YOUR GAME SYSTEM'S LASER LENS
Here's a quick guide to show you how to clean the laser lens in your game consoles, cd players, dvd players ... etc. This will fix most problems that will occur on a disc based system. There's a very good chance if your having the famous "Disc Read Error" on a Playstation 2, or the common disc errors on your gamecube that this guide will fix them. It really doesn't matter what system your cleaning. If you can see the laser lens in your system, it's pretty easy to give your system a thorough cleaning. If you can't see your lens, you can still use this guide but you will have to disassemble your system first. Unfortunately taking apart your system won't be covered in this guide. But the same rules apply. Now lets get started!
Here's the materials you will need. 1 Q-Tip Rubbing Alcohol (% doesn't matter)
Today were going to clean our very dirty gamecube.
Opening the lid reveals the laser lens underneath.
Now take your q-tip and apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to one end. You don't want it soaking but enough so that it's wet.
Using the end of the q-tip you just dipped in rubbing alcohol, very gently rub the laser lens a few times. When your done, reverse the q-tip and do the same thing to dry it off. It doesn't take much effort and if your laser is REALLY dirty you should immediately see a difference.
Give your system a few minutes to dry and it should be good to go. As you can see the same exact process works for a Saturn and Dreamcast below. I hope this guide helped get your system working again.
